Crust Skiing to the Grand Rocher

Spring trip to the Grand Rocher on skate skis. You follow the trails from Pipay where the snow hangs around longest up to Pincerie then ski down to the Col de Merderat (1798 meters). The summit is reached via a series of 3 plateaux then a ridge line. Good snow conditions but the crust is not deep enough yet so breakable. You need to hit the trails at 8am for a return mid morning. Generally return without climbing up to the Pincerie/Ecureil but via a large plateau on the west.

This year there is a real lack of snow and it looks like this will be the only opportunity I'll get to ski here.
